  • Storytelling as soon as we’re all back and healthy… as long as we’re done before the break!
  • Skating cancelled tomorrow
  • Grade threes – you will still go to Swim to Survive tomorrow.  DOn’t forget to wear your bathing suit, and being a change of clothes (including your underwear!)
  • Read for at least 15 minutes.

  • Read for about 20 minutes
  • We skate tomorrow; we’ll be leaving here at about 12:20.  If there is a snow day tomorrow, or if the weather is really bad, we may have to cancel.  if you are volunteering to come, and I haven’t talk to you already, please call the school before you head over to see if we are still going.
  • Tomorrow is our final class Spelling Bee.  Good luck to everyone, the winner of this Bee will compete in Primary class wide spelling bee later in the month.

Tuesday, January 10th, 2012

  • please study for the Spelling Bee.  We will have another ‘mock spelling bee’ on Thursday, and the ‘real’ competition on Tuesday next week.
  • Salamander Theatre is coming to Centruy on Monday.  We have been asked to collect $1 from each student to help cover the cost of the production.  Please send in your loonies ASAP.
  • Library tomorrow.  if you have outstanding library books from last year, please look carefully for them this evening and send them in for tomorrow.
  • Read for about 20 minutes.
  • Health crossword is due tomorrow.  Please take it home and finish it this evening.

  • Tomorrow is our 4 Houses assembly.  We will be celebrating the holidays with a holiday concert after.  The assembly and concert will begin at 8:45 in the morning.  The theme for this month’s assembly is cultural dress or wear red/green/white.

  • Study Reader’s Theatre plays for presentation next week. (does not have to be memorized, but it does need to be fluent and with expression!)
  • Think about ways to ‘blow Mr. Aubrey away’ with great answers, appropriate, respectful behaviour when he shows up with his Math teacher colleagues.
  • Parent Teacher interviews are tomorrow; I look forward to meeting most of you. (Don’t forget, no school on Friday!)

  • Everyone will be asked to present (perform) a poetry reading next week.  Your homework over the next few night is to pick the poem you will be presenting.  It needs to be a poem already written (for this time only, it can’t be an original piece).  Choose the poem and tell me the title and show me the words before Thursday.  Start reading it every night, to have it fluent by next Wednesday.
